At Northallerton School & Sixth Form College, our curriculum is designed to challenge, support and inspire every student to achieve their full potential.

From Key Stage 3 through to Sixth Form, students access a wide range of academic and vocational subjects. The curriculum is structured to ensure progression, with tailored support available for individual needs. Enrichment opportunities, careers education and work experience are integral to our offer, helping students to develop the skills, knowledge and confidence needed to thrive in modern society.
Key Stage 3 (Years 7–9)
Students follow a wide-ranging curriculum that builds strong foundations for future study. Subjects include:

Support is provided for students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and those with English as an Additional Language (EAL), ensuring all learners can access the full curriculum.
Key Stage 4 (Years 10–11)
Students continue with core subjects and choose four option subjects in Year 9. The curriculum includes:

Options such as Business Studies, Engineering, Media, Photography, Health & Social Care, Religious Studies, Drama, Music, Computing, Hospitality & Catering
We support students pursuing the English Baccalaureate (EBacc) and offer a wide range of GCSE and vocational qualifications.
Year 10 students also take part in a week-long work experience placement to develop employability skills and explore career pathways.
Key Stage 5 (Sixth Form)
Students select three A-level or Level 3 vocational subjects, with the option of a fourth in exceptional cases. Subjects include:

The Sixth Form curriculum is designed to support progression to university, apprenticeships, or employment. A robust careers programme and enrichment opportunities help students make informed choices and develop wider skills.
